FootGolf in the United States

FootGolf was introduced in the U.S. in 2011 and by July 2012 introductory tournaments were taking place around the country. Current and former soccer players began discovering FootGolf and quickly become serious competitors of the sport. A national and international presence of the sport was developing and governing bodies were being established around the world. Rules were developed for play and the game was quickly following the rules of golf with adjustments made to adapt rules to kicking a soccer ball into a 21" cup on the fairways.
With the demand for play golf course operators saw a way to gain additional revenue by bringing in the sport and over 200 courses were being added a year.  A structure of the sport was building and equipment was being developed and manufactured to supply courses with an easy option for adding the sport and next was a way for players to compete.
